Alex Holsonback pitched all five innings and limited the Bulldogs to just four runs on four hits on the night. He also struck out five while walking three. The Red Devil bats were hot as they pounded out 13 hits on the night driving in 16 runs. Clinton had four players with multiple hits on the night. Dalton Foster and Bradley Templeton led the way with three RBI’s each. “Alex threw well for us tonight. It was tough as he pitched around five errors, but he was able to keep them off balance throughout the night. Newberry scored two in the bottom of the first and had a chance for more, but a (Brandon) Pitts, to (O’Kevius) Conway to (Dalton) Foster double-play got us out of the jam,” Coach Lee Atkinson explained. With the win, Clinton ups its record to 3-2 on the year. The Red Devils travel to Greenwood Monday for their last non region game starting at 7:00. Clinton opens region play on Tuesday night. Game time in Chapman is scheduled for 6:00 and will be broadcast on WPCC 1410.
