Clinton hosted Senior Night and gave a great defensive performance to cap off a perfect region record. The Chapman Panthers could not find an answer for the Red Devils who won 53-31.
The Red Devils scored the first six points of the game to get off to a good start. They kept Chapman off of the scoreboard until the 2:30 mark in the first quarter and then scored the last six points of the quarter for a 12-2 advantage after the first period.
Indya Kinard scored six of Clinton’s nine second quarter points. The Panthers could only muster five points in the period and the Red Devils led at the half 21-7.
Seven Red Devils scored 20 third quarter points, while holding the Panthers to eight. Then with Clinton trying to get everyone on scorebook in the final stanza, Chapman was able to win the final quarter by a score of 16-12. The effort came up short as the Red Devils won 53-31 on Senior Night to finish the region perfect.
Clinton, 17-6, 8-0, finish in first place in the region and gain the number one seed in the upper state playoffs. The Red Devils will host next Monday night’s first round playoff game at 7:00. Their opponent will not be known until after region four games finish Friday night.
