The Clinton High varsity boys came out on top against the Greenwood Eagles 68-54 on Wednesday night in Greenwood.
After the first couple minutes of the first quarter, the Red Devils began to pull away. Devaris “Big Baby” Burton led his team in scoring with 31. “We kept feeding it to Devaris, and they couldn’t stop him,” said Coach Frazier. Jerome Winphrie was second in scoring for the Red Devils with 10 and Chris Gary had 9 points. “This is the best effort the team has given all season,” Coach Frazier added. We’ll see if the Red Devils can display the same effort when they play Woodruff at their home court on Friday. (the author, Viraj Kirit Naik is a student in the journalism class at CHS) |
